Bukadra

Bukadra is the name long used for a young residential district south of Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary and north-east of Meydan Racecourse. Developers now launch projects here under a newer name, Meydan Horizon: DHG Properties, for example, places its Helvetia Verde tower in Meydan Horizon and notes that the district was formerly called Bukadra. Most of the district is still being built, so Bukadra is a place to buy into early rather than a settled neighbourhood with years of community life behind it. The planned setting is green and watery. DHG describes a lagoon, landscaped parks and shaded promenades with cafés, restaurants and shops within walking distance of its tower, and points to views of the Burj Khalifa and of the sanctuary. Bukadra suits buyers who want a new apartment close to the city centre, and investors who are comfortable with handovers from 2027 onwards.

Bukadra sits close to the centre of Dubai. In a straight line, Downtown Dubai and Dubai Festival City Mall are each about 5 km away, Meydan Racecourse about 3 km and Dubai International Airport about 9 km. DHG Properties puts the journey to Downtown Dubai at around 15 minutes and to Dubai International Airport at around 20 minutes, although traffic changes this. Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary lies directly to the north. Dubai Municipality awarded the first phase of a two-phase upgrade in June 2025: it expands mangrove cover and water bodies across the 6.4 square kilometre reserve and is due for completion by the end of 2026. A later phase plans a visitor centre, birdwatching towers, 5.6 km of cycling tracks and 3 km of walking trails. For larger shopping trips today, Dubai Festival City Mall, about 5 km away, is one convenient option.
