A Kengo Kuma Tower on the Dubai Canal in Business Bay
Wedyan – The Canal is the first Dubai building by the Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, developed by Al Ghurair Collection right on the Dubai Canal waterfront in Business Bay. The design takes its cue from desert valleys and dunes: rounded, wind-carved bands of terrace wrap the tower, with planting spilling over every level.
The gardens are designed by the London landscape studio Gustafson Porter + Bowman. With only a few large homes per floor, the project is aimed at families and buyers who want a big, private residence on the water close to Downtown Dubai.
3 to 5 Bedroom Canal Residences at Wedyan
Three unit types are on sale: a 3 bedroom residence of 5,340 sq ft, a 4 bedroom of 6,408 sq ft and a 5 bedroom of 9,502 sq ft. The collection also includes penthouses and a single sky villa. Every home has two kitchens, a show kitchen for entertaining and a service kitchen with its own entrance for staff.
Wide terraces run around the living spaces, and some residences add a pavilion modelled on a Japanese tea house. The finishes palette lists travertine floors, walnut and ash timber veneers, Crema Perla stone and brushed nickel fittings.
Wellness, Sport and Work Spaces at Wedyan
Shared facilities are arranged by theme over several floors. Level 2 holds a cardio and strength gym, reformer pilates, yoga, a spin studio and a padel court, while Level 3 is a family floor with swimming pools, a games room, a golf simulator, a private cinema and dining lounges.
A wellness level brings an indoor lagoon pool, a hydrotherapy spa, sauna, steam, a salt room and an ice bath. Higher up are private offices, boardrooms, a majlis, a cigar lounge and private dining rooms. Cars are stored in a temperature-controlled car stacker.
Business Bay Canal Location Near Downtown Dubai
The tower stands on the bank of the Dubai Canal in Business Bay, where promenades, cycle paths and cafes follow the water towards Jumeirah and the coast. Sheikh Zayed Road, the city's main north-south artery, runs just beside the district.
Dubai Opera is about 4 minutes by car and Burj Khalifa about 5 minutes. DIFC is around 7 minutes away and The Dubai Mall about 8 minutes, so the main business and leisure districts of central Dubai are all within a short drive.
