About Palm Jebel Ali

Palm Jebel Ali is an artificial archipelago off Dubai's coast, developed by Nakheel, the company behind the Palm Islands, and it is back under active construction after years on hold. Work first began in October 2002, but the project stalled after the 2008 financial crisis. On 31 May 2023, Dubai's ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced its relaunch, with a new master plan that adds about 110 km of coastline to the city. The plan brings together villas, apartments and a large number of hotels and resorts. Homes sit in private frond neighbourhoods with walkable streets and pocket parks leading to the beach. The island suits buyers who want a large beachfront villa or a resort-style apartment and are comfortable buying off-plan with delivery a few years away.

Nakheel's travel estimates show how Palm Jebel Ali fits into the city: about 16 minutes by car to Life Pharmacy Metro Station, around 19 minutes to Ibn Battuta Mall, roughly 24 minutes to both Al Maktoum International Airport and Expo City, about 25 minutes to Dubai Marina and 27 minutes to Palm Jumeirah. On the island itself, Nakheel plans hotels and resorts, lifestyle malls, leisure parks, a waterfront promenade, beach clubs, a yacht club and sports and wellness facilities. Because the island is still being built, these amenities are expected to open in stages, and early residents are likely to use facilities on the mainland for schooling, shopping and healthcare at first. The first properties are planned for delivery in the first quarter of 2027, and the project as a whole is currently intended for completion in 2028.
